Thank you for sharing this message with me. I can sense your admiration and respect for Major Padmapani Acharya, who was a brave and patriotic soldier of the Indian Army. He sacrificed his life for the nation in the Kargil War, and was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously for his valour. He is indeed a hero that India will always be proud of.
You have given a brief summary of his life and his last mission, which was to recapture the Tololing peak from the enemy. He led his company with courage and determination, despite facing heavy fire and casualties. He reached the top of the peak and planted the Indian flag, but was fatally wounded by a sniper. He closed his eyes only after seeing the Indian flag once again on Tololing top12.
